Compare DEMAC cable reels

To replace a reel, start with its full part number and the existing cable. For a new installation, compare the electrical specifications, travel and mounting together: current alone is not enough.

Identify the series to consider

On mobile, scroll the table horizontally.

SeriesApplication to considerPriority check
CR 025 series cable reel — signal, 50 V and 1 ACR 025Signals, small conductor cross-sections and short travelConductors, cross-section and travel of the specific part number.
CR 10 series cable reel — up to 36 conductorsCR 10 / CR 15Control or measurement linesCurrent per contact, number of conductors and any communication protocol.
CR 25 series cable reel — 2.5 mm² and 16 ACR 25Larger cable cross-section than CR 10 and CR 15Permissible voltage and current for the selected configuration.

This table points you towards a product family; it does not validate a part number. Combinations of cross-section, conductors and length are specific to each model.

Information needed for comparison

Electrical

Voltage, operating current, number and cross-section of conductors, and presence of a protective conductor. Specify the signals or protocols to be transmitted.

Movement

Usable travel, horizontal or vertical position, speed and duty cycle. State the length that remains wound during operation.

Installation layout

Available space, mounting, exit direction, guiding and suspended mass. For a replacement, include views of the existing installation.

Environment

Temperatures, dust, water and special conditions. Have the protection level of the installed assembly, including connections, confirmed.

Wound and unwound cable: two conditions to check

The series 700 catalogue gives different power ratings for wound and unwound cable. These values vary by part number: do not apply a single ratio to them or transfer them to other families.

If a machine operates with part of its cable still on the drum, state this when enquiring. Sizing must take account of the actual duty, cable and slip ring assembly.

A cable intended for horizontal movement must not automatically be selected for vertical downward travel. Check the configuration, permissible tensile load, guiding and corresponding manual.

What a nameplate photo should help identify

  • Reel part number, including suffixes and options.
  • Cable code, number of conductors and cross-section.
  • Usable length and mounting direction.
  • Type of connectors or connections.
  • Required function: power, control, measurement or communication network.

If the nameplate is incomplete, add a view of the reel, its support and the machine. A photo helps identify the family; the electrical specifications must be confirmed before ordering.

Need to find a part number or identify a replacement?

Send the full part number if you know it. Otherwise, start with a legible photo of the nameplate, a view of the reel and its mountings, and the machine make and model. Include the specifications already available; we will clarify any additional checks with you.

Compatibility must be confirmed for the selected configuration before ordering.
