DEMAC range

Workshop and fluid reels

Compare series by fluid, installation and drive. For a replacement, record the part number, connections and bracket; limits must be checked by part number.

For a reel mounted on machinery and returned by machine movement, see instead hydraulic hose reels for machinery.

Compare series by fluid and operating conditions

The ranges below help identify series; then check that the required diameter, length, pressure and temperature are available on the same part number.

Diameter and pressure must be checked together. Consult the part-number specifications to combine the required fluid, diameter, length and pressure; a series range does not guarantee their availability on one reel.

Painted or stainless steel

Painted or stainless steel: compare specifications

Do not transfer the specifications of a painted-steel series to its stainless-steel version. The table distinguishes the stated ranges.

Painted steelStainless steel
PressureDepending on part numberDepending on part number
Temperature60 °Cup to 150 °C

Material is selected according to the fluid and the environment. Check pressure, temperature and component compatibility for the part number together.

According to the fluid

Data to record according to the fluid

Provide actual dispensing conditions, not just the fluid name.

Compressed air. Network pressure, flow rate required by the tool, hose diameter and length; also check connections and the workstation environment.

Engine oil and diesel. Product type, pump pressure and flow rate, temperature, dispensing diameter and length.

Grease. Grease type, pump pressure, required flow rate, temperature and circuit length: pressure alone is not enough to select the hose.

Hot water. Working temperature and pressure, dispensed product and any cleaning agents; check compatibility of the equipped assembly.

For installation and accessory details, see the application page oil, grease and diesel dispensing.

Specific applications

Specialities

Three families address applications that are neither standard workshop work nor machine installations.

GAS series — welding gases, oxygen and acetylene, twin hose compliant with DIN 8541 and ISO 3821. A welding hose must not be replaced with a compressed-air hose, even of the same diameter: construction and gas compatibility are not the same.

RT series — rescue vehicles and extrication tools, 350 or 700 bar on 1/4″ twin hose.

Type 9871 — motorised rewind for rescue services, up to 100 m of hose, 1″ diameter or 400 bar depending on configuration, with emergency manual rewind. These values are not maximums that can be combined in one configuration.

The latter two are detailed on the application page rescue vehicles.

Points requiring attention

Installation and limits of the part number

Permissible pressure. Check the reel, hose and connections; the hose tables allow construction types to be compared.

Travel and stop. Observe the usable length and setting specified in the instructions. Check compatibility of the hose stop with the assembly and guides.

Mounting. Record the existing bracket and hole centres. Choice of anchors, height and installation position depends on the part number, supporting structure and installation instructions.

Technical advice

What to send for a quotation

  • For a replacement: full part number, photograph of the nameplate and views of the existing installation.
  • Dispensed fluid and temperature, both fluid and room.
  • Actual working pressure of the pump or network.
  • Required internal diameter — decisive for grease.
  • Usable length and distance between mounting point and workstation.
  • Number of workstations to equip.
  • Environment: pressure washing, dust, classified zone.

Quotations and technical advice on request.
